發問:
A person takes a trip, driving with a constant speed of 89.5 km/h, except for a 22 min rest stop. If the person's average speed is 77.8 km/h, how much time is spent on the trip and how far does the person travel?
最佳解答:
Suppose that the person spent x minutes in total (including the 22 min rest stop) Then time of driving = (x - 22) minutes, equal to (x - 22)/60 hours. Then total distance travelled = 89.5(x - 22)/60 km Therefore: 89.5(x - 22)/x = 77.8 1 - 22/x = 0.869 22/x = 0.131 x = 168.3 So the person spent 168.3 minutes on the trip and he/she travelled 77.8 x 168.3/60 = 218.2 km.
